Wilder Gardens are here!

Introducing Wilder Gardens from Lend and Tend: A Movement to Rewild UK Gardens 🌿

Biodiversity in the UK is under threat, but your garden can be part of the solution. Wilder Gardens is a bold initiative to create and connect wildlife habitats in every garden across the country, turning underused spaces into vital ecosystems.

Gardens in the UK cover over 433,000 hectares—twice the size of all national nature reserves combined! By rewilding even a small section of your outdoor space, you can help build a National Wildlife Garden Network, supporting pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.

🌱 How You Can Help:

  • Plant native wildflowers.

  • Add a pond or birdbath.

  • Avoid harmful chemicals.

  • Provide shelter with log piles or leaf clusters.

✨ Our pilot program is launching in Bristol, paving the way for a greener, wilder future. Together, we can make every garden count.

10 Years+ and Growing

Founding Lend and Tend in 2014 was a simple idea— sharing gardens. Now, 10+ years later, this mission has flourished beyond anything I could have imagined! Featured on BBC One Show, Vogue, Homes & Gardens, and more, our garden-sharing community continues to tackle isolation, food insecurity, and access to green space. But there’s still so much more to do. 1000’s of people are waiting for a Patch-Match opportunity, and I want to help ALL of you. That’s where you come in! 🌱 Help us spread the word—every share makes a difference.

And there’s more exciting news—we’re growing! 🌿
📱 A New App is Coming! Beta testing begins in 2025—want to be the first to try it? Let us know!
Bigger Impact Ahead! We’re working on new community collaborations, food-growing initiatives, and biodiversity projects.

This journey has been one of patience, persistence, and connection—just like gardening itself. Thank you for being part of it. 💚
