You’re not alone in your love of allotments or wishing you had one. Naturally, the Capital is one of the most oversubscribed areas for an allotment in the U.K and the waiting lists are very long, however they prove to be an ever-popular theme.

Now you can sign up to Garden-Share at Bourne and Hollingsworth's Beautiful Allotment at The Geffrye Museum.

This summer, in central London, Bourne Hollingsworth (the people behind that lush bar/ restaurant with all the plants in Clerkenwell) present Summer Pop-Up venue, Beautiful Allotment at The Geffrye Museum and they've signed up to Lend on LendandTend.com so you can Garden-Share.

So, if you’re local and keen to grow Kale, want to tend to tomatoes or take pleasure from picking your own parsley; claim your own personal No-Dig patch at The Beautiful Allotment to test drive your gardening skills with our help at this summer-long event.

At the end of summer, the harvest you grow is yours to have and if you find your fingers have turned green and you’re keen to continue gardening, Lend and Tend can get you Patch-Matched to a real plot to Garden-Share in your area.

Where is it?

The Beautiful Allotment is located in the gardens of the Geffrye Museum 136 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8EA.

Unfortunately, the museum is closed for refurbishment until 2020, but you can enjoy the comfort and furnishings of the allotment instead.

The nearest station is Hoxton, but Old Street, Shoreditch High Street and Haggerston are all within easy walking distance. Plenty of busses also stop nearby.

When can I garden?

The Beautiful Allotment is a working bar/food pop-up and service area opening times are:

Wednesday - Friday from 4pm - 11pm

Saturday: 12pm - 11pm

Sunday: 12pm - 8pm

However, if you’d just like to come along to tend to your plants on your personal straw bale, for health and safety reasons, gardening is permitted during daylight hours only

After you’ve tended to your plants, we’d highly recommend a cooling cocktail. Our favourite is The Gardener’s Negroni,  made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, including some grown on the Beautiful Allotment.
