Kathryns’s garden in Holbeach (PE12)

Wanted! New pal for Poly Tunnel Plans. A Foodie Friend who likes chutneys and chickens.

Featured Garden

Kathryn’s large garden is currently a clean-slate grassy growing space in a rural area and although it borders crop fields it’s the perfect space for a hobbyist or market gardener in the PE12 Holbeach area.

Kathryn says:

About the garden

It’s a large garden that wraps around a detached house, backing onto crop fields. It’s currently predominantly laid to grass with a few concrete and patio areas. There’s growing space in a small front garden area too. 90% of borders are fenced but there’s also [heat retaining] brick wall 10%. There are also some planter type border areas which also surround the patio.

Why Lend Your garden?

Kathryn would like to share with Individual(s) who are keen to design and work a garden from scratch, growing fruit and veg all year round to eat and maybe donaing excess to food banks etc. “I can do some of gardening and have most of tools required but i need someone to maybe do the heavier stuff. I hope to make chutneys, pickles and jams for us to share. Also quite interested in using plants grown as natural remedies. I am happy to purchase seeds and polytunnel, i already have planters, composters and benches. If you have gardening experiencethat would be great. Once garden is established would like to venture into chickens.I hate to think of people waiting endlessly for an allotment; I know several folk who have them and they enjoy them so much.

If I can help someone with a little space to grow some veg and/or create a wildlife haven, I’d be delighted.”
